Volunteer Training - Wed. Sept. 2 at 6 PM
Attendance is mandatory for all Shift leads and Expected for all volunteers.
Volunteer Expectations
Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled shift
Come prepared for all weather conditions
Maintain a quiet, respectful, and supportive presence at all times
Youth (ages 13-17) are more than welcome to volunteer; however, they must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian at all times.
Available Volunteer Roles
Host/Hostess (Shift Lead)
Must be able to professionally greet and assist visitors. Gain an understanding of each volunteer role to ensure all visitor needs are met appropriately. Identify any areas that require additional assistance and
coordinate with the volunteer team to properly address any concerns expeditiously. Maintain volunteer tent area and notify appropriate contact of any needs at the site of the wall.
Wall Ambassadors
Greet and assist visitors with finding names, viewing photos, and creating name rubbings.
Mobile Education Center Assistant
Engage visitors by discussing exhibit items, In Memory Honorees, and Hometown Heroes. Share the history and purpose of the Mobile Education Center.
Visitor Center Attendee (Seated Position)
Assist visitors with finding names using the website or name directory.
Parking Attendant
Direct parking and assist visitor with general inquiries.
Volunteers for The Wall That Heals help to preserve the memory and dignity of these fallen soldiers.
